Envelope Notes Bestie Card | Scrap Diva Designs

 Hello Friends !

I have another project as part of my guest design spot for Scrap Diva Designs. This one is an envelope notes slimline card and those little envelope flaps are fastened with small magnets. So you can open and close them and add small notes in each envelope to send fun messages to your recipient. I chose to make this a card between friends but you could use this design for Mother's Day, birthdays, or even for someone super special!! I think those Mini Scalloped Envelopes are so fun! I was so excited to use these cute Mini Scalloped Envelopes that it was the first thing I did. There are 2 sizes that come with the set and I cut out 2 of the smaller envelopes and one large envelope. I made the smaller envelopes match, using the same pattern paper and made the large envelope completely different to make it more of the focal point and draw your eye towards the center of the card.

The trick to these envelopes, is to add small mini magnets - one to the inside of the envelope just behind the opening of the envelope and one on the inner envelope flap. I like to add one the first magnet on the inside of the envelope and then I drop the second magnet on top on the outside of the envelope. Then I add a strip of strong double-sided adhesive to the flap of the envelope and fold it down to adhere to the second magnet. I open the flap up and the tape will pick up the magnet. This way it sits perfectly in place to facilitate opening and closing of the envelope. To hide the second magnet, I cut another envelope (but just the top flap) and put it over top. I did this for all 3 envelopes.

The little notes or panels of cardstock that I fit into the envelopes were cut just a little smaller than each envelope. The two small notes were approximately 1-7/8" x 1-1/4" and the large note was 2-5/8" x 1-3/4". I used white cardstock and then I stamped out 3 friendly sentiments from the Scrap Diva Galentine's Day and Valentine's Stamp Sets. These sets are made for Valentines and Galentines but they have some generic friendly sentiments which work for this card. I always love sets that have a nice mix of sentiments. Once the ink was dry, I put the little notes in the envelopes and closed them.

Next I cut some pattern paper slightly smaller than 9" x 4" for a slimline card with a slight border. To add some detail, I used the dies from the Pocket & Line Detail Bundle to cut and emboss a line of hearts and some stitching along the top and bottom edges of the pattern paper. And I adhered the paper to a white 9" x 4" card base.

I attached the envelopes with foam adhesive and made sure the envelope flap could open freely, since as couple of the envelopes overlap. For the sentiment, I used the "Besties" and "Always" dies from the Valentine Words #2 set. I cut the main sentiment from Charcoal Pearl cardstock and the shadow from vellum. I assembled these and adhered them to the card. Again, the set is labelled Valentines Words but as you can see they can be used for other occassions too.

Finally, I added some of the light blue and white glitter enamel stickers by Scrap Diva. These enamel dots come in a pack of 6 sheets and there is such a great variety of colours! I used the blue in the background and like adding the smaller dots in groups of two in die cuts. So I added them to the corner of the little envelopes.

And that's my Scrap Diva card inspiration for today! The little envelopes are quite addictive and you and your recipient will have fun opening and closing them! I know I did!😁
