Hello Friends!
Okay so I went a little crazy with the embellishments again... but the results are stunning! When I'm short on time or feel like I just can't thread a needle today, I love to cut my stitching dies and use them with gems instead of thread! I did that here with the July Stitching Die of the Month and created a classic card with neutral tones. I also used the add-on set which is available for the sentiment. The stitching die set is called Stitched Snowflake Card Front and the Add-On set is called Tiny Merriment. Both are available to purchase on subscription in the Spellbinders' store right now!!

This month's stitching die has 3 main portions to it. You have the background die with is stunning on it's own. The snowflake stitching die which I cut out of plain white cardstock. And the center die which can also be stitched, but I decided not to use it here. Instead, I used the Peace sentiment banner dies from the Tiny Merriment add-on die set, which I cut out of red cardstock. I actually used the snowflake die to also cut the little triangles in the center of the snowflake out of gold mirror cardstock. I like that it has a cut design that matches the background. I inlayed this into the snowflake diecut on this background and propped up the snowflake with foam adhesive.

Finally, I used a mix of gems to add shine. I placed them in all the holes that are cut on the snowflake that would have been used for stitching. Now to make this design more inexpensive, I used a pack of mixed gems that I had picked up for about $12 at Michaels. Even after the card was complete you couldn't tell I'd used anything from the box (there are that many gems), but I had to share as I keep my more expensive gems to use more sparingly. You can also find inexpensive gems at the dollar store in Canada or the Dollar Tree in the US.
And that's my inspiration for the July 2023 Stitching Die of the Month!
