Thoughtful Cherry Blossoms Scrapbook Page

Hello there!

Today I have a scrapbook page for you to look at. I created it specifically for the Altenew Sketch Challenge #10 and I’ll be entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge called “Anything but a card” this week. I've never won before but I do end up with some great scrapbook pages inspired by their sketch and colour schemes! You see the sketch challenge image below and that's pretty much where I chose my colours from.

Below is a video of my creative process - please take a look at it if you like. It has more details about the products used and how I used them, along with some tips and tricks I've picked up along the way. And if you like the video, don't for get to like it and subscribe if you'd like to see more. Also please scroll to the bottom for a complete supplies list!

I started off with the Altenew In My Thoughts stamp set. I used some Altenew Crisp Dye inks to stamp that onto white cardstock and used the foliage part of the set to create a bit of a border at he bottom.

I used the Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set to stamp out some close-up branches and cherry blossom flowers in diagonally opposing corners of the page. I used the Altenew Shades of Purple and Cherry Blossom lines of ink for this. I swear, I did not plan the cherry blossom part :).

I then used some Altenew Caribbean Sky and Arctic inks to add some colour to the center of the page with an ink blending tool. I chose the blues because of the colour scheme and, specifically, the Arctic colour as it has a bit of a purplish hue that ties it into the purple inks used already.

I wanted to use some mixed media here so I added some Dreamweaver Pearlescent Embossing Paste + WOW! white glitter with a Tim Holtz Stencil.

I cut out my printed images and used some Tim Holtz Micro Glaze to waterproof and give my images a glossy shine comparable to actually glossy photos (a neat tip if you would rather print your own pictures at home).

I finished off this scrapbook page with some gold heat embossed and some Copic-coloured flowers, specifically, Spellbinders Cherry Blossom flowers. I used the peach from the colour scheme and a Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen for interest. And I used Altenew's Rose Gold for heat embossing.

I added the photos and the die cut flowers with some 3D foam tape and squares. I also added some sentiments below 3 of the pictures with VersaFine Smokey Gray ink. This ink is great for creating more of a subtle sentiment versus the onyx black. And finally I added some gold coloured gems to the flower centers and surrounding area of the page.

And voila, there you have it! I hope you enjoyed viewing my blog and/or video for this page. If you have a moment please like my blog or leave a comment! I love hearing from you!

Thanks for viewing!
