Ink, Stencils and Embossing Folders | Make the Cards Challenge 33

 Hello and Welcome back!

For this week's Make the Cards Challenge #33, we have a sketch challenge. I actually really like this sketch and thought my PinkFresh Studio products would be great for this! I'll be doing some ink blending, stenciling and embossing for this card, so let's get started!

Sketch:

VIDEO

I started off by stamping out the large one-piece stamp from PinkFresh Studio called Anemone Magic. I did this using my MISTI stamp positioner and this was done using the outside cover (see YouTube Video above for details). Since I was going to be stenciling I chose to use VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I used the stencil set to add colour to the images using the following Altenew inks: Pink Diamond, Peach Perfect, Pinkalicious, Sunkissed, Ultramarine and Sapphire. I then used the coordinating die to cut these images out.

Next, I embossed a 4.75" x 6.75" piece of blue cardstock with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing folder. I made sure to only partially put this through my die-cutting machine, embossing the cardstock in two stages on both sides, making sure not to roll the entire folder through the machine. This will create a sharp line indentation in your cardstock and will not look good. This is only required because my piece of cardstock is larger than the folder. If your piece is A2-sized, you will have no problems fitting it in the folder in its entirety and this is not an issue.

Next, I cut my flag portion out of Grey Recollections cardstock. I attached my Anemone floral with some foam squares and cut off any overhanging bits. I then adhered with small foam squares, strips of Sizzix Gold Mirror Cardstock on either side of where the flag piece would sit on the blue embossed cardstock piece. I then, adhered the flag piece onto the panel with foam squares.

I used the "lovely" sentiment die from the PinkFresh Studio Hello Phrase Builder dies. There is a shadow die but I just used the script die to cut out 3 pieces from white cardstock and one piece from Sizzix Ivory Glitter cardstock. I adhered these layers together with Artist-tac Dry Adhesive. I stamped out the "Have A" and Day." sentiments from The Ton's Peony Notes stamp set and heat embossed this with Hero Arts Fine White Detail embossing powder. I then adhered these sentiment strips in between the L's of the lovely sentiment and to the left of the "Y". I adhered the entire sentiment onto the card with BearlyArt Glue. And to finish off the front, I added some Black Diamond LolliBead gems in a row at the top of the flag piece to complete the sketch. I also added some clear crystal LolliBead gems to the rest of the blue background.

I cut a 10" x 7" top folded card base out of white cardstock. I added some extra pieces of embossed blue cardstock to the opposite corners of the card inside with some Tombow Mono Dot tape runner and cut off the overhanging bits. I used the leftover Anemone floral images to decorate the corners of the card inside, popping some images up with foam and adhering some down with glue. I stamped out a sentiment from the Mama Elephant Inside Birthday Messages stamp set using VersaFine Clair Blue Belle ink.

And that is my final card! I hope you have been inspired and go ahead and leave me a comment as I love hearing from you! And don't forget to join the challenge over at the Make the Cards Challenge blog!
