4 Ways to Add Shine To Your Cards | Pigment Craft Co. Stamps & Ink

 Hello and happy weekend friends!

So if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently purchased all the inks and some stamps from Pigment Craft Co. They have been around for about a year I think and I have just heard of them and am gaga over their products! Plus an added bonus for my Canadian friends - they are in Canada!! This means we can skip those hefty duties and taxes!

For my card today, I'm adding a ton of shine to my projects and I will give you 4 ways to easily do this. I can never get enough shine and I find that it's these little details that make your creations really pop! I'll mainly be using Pigment Craft Co products but I have a mix of some Spellbinders, SSS and Altenew in there as well. I'll be stamping and fussy cutting to create a dimensional border on a glittery background. And as always, I'll show you how I designed the insides too! So let's dive in!

INSTRUCTIONS:

- Stamp out the holly, berries, wreath, flower and round foliage images from the first 2 Pigment Craft Co sets: Christmas Bouquet & Berry Merry Stamps, using Pigment Craft Co inks in colours Blush, Glow, Medina, Himalayan and Rosewood.

- The first way to add shine is with Embossing Powder. Use Altenew Golden Peach EP to emboss the lines of the hollies, the wreath berries and centers of the flowers.

- Stamp out the sentiments from the Pigment Craft Co. Falala set: 2 in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and the other heat embossed with Altenew Rose Gold EP. I added the small hollies around the sentiments for interest here.

-Fussy cut or use coordinating dies to cut all of the images and sentiments out

- Ink blend 2 - 4.75" x 6.75" panels (makes an A7 card), one with Blush and Himalayan inks and one with Jade and Eucalyptus inks. Ink blend just along the 4 sides concentrating the darker colour on the edge and blending out into white in the center.

-Use Altenew Transluscent Pearl EP to heat emboss the entire background of both panels.

- Use the pine branch from the Spellbinders Pop-Up Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh Die set, the pine and leaf branch from the Spellbinders Christmas Blooms Die set and the small laurel from the SSS Etched Laurel Leaves dies and cut them out of Sizzix Opulent Ivory Glitter cardstock. This is the second way to add shine - Glitter cardstock!

- Arrange the cut images and glitter die cuts around the border of the peach panel and adhere them with BearlyArt Glue and foam squares creating dimensional layers. Do the same with the green panel but only add the images to the top and bottom edge in portrait orientation.

-Adhere the sentiments with foam squares.

- The third way to add shine is to simply add bling! I used my AB Crystal LolliBead Gems to add bling all over the front in clusters of 3 for the flower centers and clusters of 2 around the rest of the card.

- For the card insides, I stamped out the holly leaf multiple times along the edges of the card in Blush and Himalayan inks.

- I used my masking technique (see YouTube Video) to stamp out the sentiments on the insides in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and Medina ink. These were from the Altenew Warm Blessings stamp set.

- After adhering the panels to the card bases, I added my last way to add shine: Diamond Stickles! I added this on various areas of the stamped images on the card front, like the vines of the holly, the bottom edges of the leaf fronds and in the lines of the flower petals. If you felt like it you could also add this to the hollies on the inside of the card for added interest!

And that is how I created these two beautiful cards! It may seem like a lot of shine but besides the gems, the other 3 methods are a bit more subtle and together they produce the right amount of shine!

And with that, I hope you have been inspired. As always, thanks for stopping by. And don't forget to leave me a comment, as I love hearing from you!
