Hello Crafters!
This week's Make The Cards Challenge 42 is a technique challenge! All you have to do is use a background stamp of your choice! I've really been experimenting with non-traditional Christmas colours this year and thought that using pastel colours would be a nice change. My daughters chose a pink and gold theme for Christmas this year and so I had to do pink and then chose a pastel blue and green to go along with this. This design is very elegant and with the SSS Poinsettia Background stamp and Pinkfresh Studios' Curvy Leaves dies, you can get various looks with different embossing powders and cardstocks.
So let's get started!

pink - Altenew Rose Gold EP
green - Ranger Liquid Platinum EP
blue - Ranger Frosted Crystal EP
I then cut all 3 panels down to 4.5" x 5.75". I also foiled some sentiments from the Spellbinders Essential Christmas Greetings Plates on the same coloured cardstock for each panel with various foils.
pink - Spellbinders Matte Gold foil
green - Spellbinders Silver foil
blue - Spellbinders Skybright foil
I then used my stitched circle die to cut these sentiments out. At the same time, I cut out a bunch of leaves using the Pinkfresh Studio Curvy Leaves from shimmer vellum, Sizzix Mirror Gold, Matte Silver and Mirror Silver cardstock.
I attached the circle sentiment to the panels with a foam square and then I arranged and adhered the leaves around the circle with some BearlyArt Glue. I arranged the vellum leaves so that some would stick up on top of the circle sentiment and some would tuck under the sentiment. This helps create layers and dimension to make a nice elegant wreath around the sentiment. I took the mirror and matte cardstock leaves and adhered them in between the vellum leaves to add more interest and help build up the wreath.
I embellished the front with LolliBeads (nail art gems) in the following manner:
For the inside of the card, I added some of the extra curvy leaves to the bottom left corner with glue. Then I stamped out the main sentiment in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink using the Altenew Blessings stamp set. I also stamped out the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Altenew BAF Poinsettia set using the following inks for each card:
pink - Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Ink
green - Cracked Pistachio Oxide Ink
blue - Stormy Sky Oxide Ink
And that's how you put together these elegant pastel Christmas cards. I hope you like them and that you have been inspired!
Furthermore, I encourage you to check out the rest of the designer's inspiration and create your own card to link up to the challenge page for a chance to be this week's winner.
As always, thanks for stopping by. And don't forget to leave me a comment, as I love hearing from you!
