Christmas Fireplace | Spellbinders October 2021 Large Die of the Month

Hello Crafters!

For today I have a bit of a shorter post. We all know postal services go crazy this time of year and with Covid it's gotten worse. I've been getting my Spellbinders kits at the end of the month and sometimes forget to play with them. I pulled the Large Die of the Month for October out and had to make this cute card that I wanted to share with you. I used some soft pinks and turquoise to highlight this beautiful fireplace!

I did not make a full length tutorial for this card but I do have a short video/reel you can view below!

The process for making this card was very simple:

- Use the PinkFresh Studio Diagonal Stripes Foil Plate to dry emboss a piece of gray cardstock and cut panel down to size (I made this the size of the plate itself).

- Use the dies and cut out the fireplace twice from white and gold mirror cardstock. Cut out the other pieces of the fireplace in your desired colours of cardstock.

- For the pinks and turquoises, I coloured cardstock with Altenew Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Volcano Lake and Mountain Mist inks and cut out pieces with the desired dies.

- I used yellow, orange and red mirror cardstock for the fire and Brown cardstock for the logs.

- Assemble the fireplace and stockings with the mirror cardstock in an offset fashion.

- Assemble the rest of the fireplace, foliage and candles with Bearly Art glue and foam squares.

- Embellish with AB Crystal LolliBeads on the background and in the centers of the flowers.

And that's how I made this simple Christmas card. I chose to do all the die-cutting first and then assemble everything and I find this to be a more enjoyable way to do it. You can do it in any order that fits your creative process!

I hope you've been inspired to make something similar of your own with this great set! And don't forget to leave a comment, as I do love hearing from you! Also, please make sure to follow me on Instagram and tag me with your creations: @deezinesbyd
