Classy In White & Gold | Spellbinders Hex Kaleidoscope Tile

Hello Crafters and Happy Friday!

Today I'll be using a Spellbinders Die set from last year called "Hex Argyle". I think this is one of my favourites and is perfect for this classy engagement card! I feel like this set could be used by itself and would be enough but I added a few more elements for interest.

For this post I have a short video/reel you can view below!

The process for making this card is outlined below:

- Use the layered dies from the Spellbinders Hex Argyle dies to cut out cardstock as follows:

Frame die - 3 times from White cardstock
Hexagon bottom layer - 9 times from White cardstock
Hexagon middle layer - 9 times from Sizzix Opulent Matte Gold cardstock
Hexagon top layer - 9 times from Sizzix Opulent Ivory Gold Pearl cardstock
Triangles - 8 times from White cardstock

- Assemble the 9 hexagons bottom to top layer with Artist-tac Dry Adhesive

-Glue together the 3 frame pieces with Bearly Art Glue ad attach to a 5" x 7" white cardstock panel. Glue on the hexagons and triangles in the appropriate places in the hexagon frame and cut off any over hanging pieces (keep these aside for the card inside).

- Cut out 2 solid white hearts and 2 Sizzix Gold Cardstock frame hearts using the Spellbinders Jan 2021 SDOM Lovely Card Creator. Adhere to gold frame heart to the white solid piece for both hearts.

-Use the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Wafer Die to cut out the sentiment from Sizzix Gold cardstock

- Use the Simon Says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves Die to cut out the image from Grafix Shimmer Vellum

- Use the Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink to stamp out the words "Engagement" (in the scripty font) and the two names in the Type font. I use a pencil and ruler to make a line to make sure my sentiment is straight while stamping, and I stamp out each letter with different acrylic blocks to speed up the process. I also added the "On Your" portion of the engagement sentiment using the MFT All Smiles stamp set with masking and selective stamping to get the words I wanted.

- Cut down the set Engagement sentiment strip and the smaller name sentiments

-Arrange the SSS Outline Clustered Leaves vellum piece on the card panel and glue down the main center stem of the image. Also add the inner leaf pieces here and there for interest.

-Adhere the " On Your Engagement" sentiment strip in the bottom right of the panel. Adhere the Congratulations sentiment just above the last sentiment.

-Adhere the two hearts side by side, one slightly on top of the other onto the card panel above the Congratulations sentiment, allowing enough room for the name strips.

- Adhere the name strips to the widest part of each heart

Before adhering the panel to the card base, decorate the card inside as follows:

- Cut out a 5" x 7" White card base front heavy weight cardstock

-Stamp out the sentiment from the Altenew Say It With Love stamp set using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.

-Stamp out the Congratulations sentiment from the Altenew Precious Peony set with Metallic Gold ink

- Use those leftover cut off overhanging pieces from the front panel of the card and adhere them to the top and bottom of the card inside.

- I had some smaller die cut flower pieces from a previous project that I added to the card inside and card front as well.

- Adhere the front panel to the card base

- Embellish with AB Crystal Nail Art gems

And that's how I made this classy and elegant looking engagement card in white & gold! I imagine this would work equally as well for a wedding or anniversary card too.

I hope you've been inspired to make something similar of your own with this idea! And don't forget to leave a comment, as I do love hearing from you! Also, please make sure to follow me on Instagram and tag me with your inspired creations: @deezinesbyd
