Let's Make A Valentine | Make The Cards Challenge 47

 Hello Crafters!

This week's Make The Cards Challenge 47 is another theme challenge and we would love to see all of the beautiful Valentine's cards you are creating this year!

I chose to make 2 very different cards using the same stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, "You Have My Heart". This is an older set but is perfect for copic colouring. With a few added die cuts and patterned paper, these two cards were a delight to make!

Instructions:

1. Stamp out the floral corner piece twice and the heart wreath once using Spectrum Noir Finesse Alcohol Safe ink in Flagstone.

2. Colour the images as follows using a simple flicking and blending method:

Roses - RV10, RV23, R29, R50

Leaves for the corner images - G17, G05, YG41

Leaves for the wreath - BG01, B29, B39

3. Fussy cut out the images or use the coordinating dies if you have them.

4. Cut a 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock in half and place it on top of a covered area or in a shoe box. Use Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Spray Stains to tap droplets all over cardstock by opening the bottle and lightly tapping on the lid/spray portion of the bottle. You can also spray some of the ink but be sure to keep the majority of it white.

5. Use Arteza blue and silver metallic watercolours to add more droplets. Then water down a bit of white acrylic ink to add some more droplets with a paint brush and acrylic block, with a flicking motion. (To see more of the method just click on my YouTube link above). Let this completely dry before use.

6. Stamp out the "You have my heart" sentiment with VersaMark Watermark ink and heat emboss with Ranger Silver EP.

7. Use the PinkFresh Studio Folk Edge Rectangles to die cut the largest two frames from Sizzix Opulent Silver cardstock.

8. Use the PinkFresh Studio Leafy Branch die to cut a piece out of vellum.

9. Cut the splatter background down to the size of the folk edge frame. Attach the background to an A2 -sized side folding card base.

10. Attach the folk edge frame with small foam squares. Attach the heart wreath with foam squares and arrange the vellum leafy branch around the heart cutting it into few stems with Bearly Art glue.

11. Embellish it with PinkFresh Studio Sapphire Jewels and AB Clear Nail Art Gems.

Card 2

12. Cut the black and white striped pattern paper from the Recollections Black Jack paper pad to size so that it fits the corner floral horizontally.

13. Use the Lawn Fawn Be My Valentine Border to cut the sentiment from Sizzix Opulent Gold Mirror Cardstock.

14. Arrange the floral images as in the picture and attach with foam squares. Adhere the gold sentiment with liquid glue.

15. Embellish with gold Nail Art Gems and add Diamond Stickles to the center of the roses.

And voila - these cards are complete! I hope that you have been inspired!
