Peek-A-Boo Envelope Valentine
Hello Crafters and Happy Wednesday!
Today I have a Peek-A-Boo Envelope card for you! I love cards that have movement or hidden elements. So, I chose to use the Honey Bee Stamps Pretty Postage stamp set for this using a pop out element with a sweet valentine's note on it. For this card, I made this stamp set work for me without any coordinating dies and just a sharp Exacto knife! Keep reading and I'll show you how!
For this post I have a short video/reel you can view below!

The process for making this card is outlined below:
- Stamp out the image from the Honey Bee Stamps Pretty Postage stamp with alcohol-safe black ink
- Colour in the image with the following Spectrum Noir Triblend markers using simple blending; Fair Skin, Gold Yellow, Pale Pink, True Blue and Brown Grey
- Use an Exacto knife to cut out the top half of the image so that the bouquet can be separated from the envelope (and fussy cut out the entire image)
- Cut a small rectangle piece of cardstock to fit inside/behind the envelope piece and foil the sentiments "I adore you" & "xoxoxoxo" from the Spellbinders Calligraphy Hearts Glimmer Plates set with Spellbinders Rose Gold Foil
- Use the same foil plate set to foil and die cut (with the included sentiment strip die) the "Happy Valentine's Day" Sentiment with Rose Gold Foil. Also cut a second sentiment strip piece from Sizzix Silver Glitter cardstock and attach it to the back of the sentiment in an offset fashion with small foam squares.
- Use 3 small pieces of cardstock with a scored line down the center to create hinges (about 1/2" rectangles with a score down the center, creating a 1/4" hinge)
- Use some strong double sided adhesive to attach the hinges to the back bottom and outer sides of the envelope image
- Fit the foiled rectangle piece in the hinges and mark the top with a pencil. Attach the bouquet to the top of the foiled rectangle along the marked line so that it meets seamlessly with the bottom half of the envelope. The foiled note should fit inside the hinges of the envelope piece now.
- Use the PinkFresh Studio Diamond Plaid stencils and the following Altenew inks to add colour to a 4" x 5.25" piece of cardstock with an ink tool
Stencil 1 & Altenew Limestone Ink
Stencil 2 & Silver Stone Ink
- Use the PinkFresh Studio Folk Edge Rectangles largest die to cut the folk edge onto this panel (it should fit perfectly)
- Assemble the card by attaching the hinges of the envelope piece to the stenciled background and inserting the foiled note/bouquet portion. Attach the foiled sentiment underneath the envelope with BearlyArt glue.
- mount the card panel onto an A2-sized side folding white card base
- Use Diamond Stickles in the centers of the flowers
- Embellish with AB and rose gold Crystal LolliBeads on the bouquet, background and envelope.
I did also decorate the inside of the card with the same floral image stamped and coloured in the bottom left and top right of the card inside. Then I stamped a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp You Have My Heart stamp set.
And that's how I made this neat little Peek-A-Boo Valentine. I love the extra little note that you can pull out of the card, which is very indicative of Valentine's Day and the fun and excitement surrounding this occasion.
I hope you've been inspired to make something similar of your own with this idea! And don't forget to leave a comment, as I do love hearing from you! Also, please make sure to follow me on Instagram and tag me with your creations: @deezinesbyd
