Stitching Dies Without The Stitching | Spellbinders December 2021 LDOM
Hello and Happy Friday!
Today's post is for those of you who love the look of stitching dies but don't have the time for stitching. I'm using the Spellbinders December 2021 Large Die Of The Month stitching dies to create a card without adding any stitching. I personally love adding gems to substitute for stitching but you can add whatever you like!
So let's get started!
For this card I was inspired by a beautiful floral shirt one of my friend's wore in a social media post. It had beautiful pinks and peaches contrasted by black and white! Needless to say I was in love with this colour scheme when I saw it and had to make a card with it!
Instructions
1. Use Spellbinders December 2021 Large Die Of The Month dies to cut your cardstock twice as follows:
solid rectangle - black cardstock
Stitching layer - pink cardstock
Lattice bottom layer - Sizzix silver metallic cardstock
lattice top layer - Sizzix Ivory silver cardstock
2. Assemble the pieces in the same order they were cut with Bearly Art Glue and Artist-tac dry Adhesive. You will end up with 2 rectangles.
3. Cut a piece of Sizzix Opulent Charcoal glitter cardstock to create a 3/4" border around the two rectangles with a space in the middle.
4. Use the Spellbinders Mini Blooms and Sprigs and Spellbinders Petite Floral Potpourri die sets to cut various flowers and branches/foliage from Tim Holtz Metallic Jewels Black Kraft Stock, Silver glitter cardstock and DCWV Rose Gold Cardstock.
5. Use the Spellbinders Spot On Background & Sentiments (May '21 GKOM) set to foil the " You are one in a million" sentiment in Spellbinders Rose Gold foil on white cardstock. Cut this sentiment out using the sentiment die from the Spellbinders Calligraphy Hearts set using the partial die cutting method.
6. Adhere the two rectangles and sentiment strip to the charcoal glitter panel with strong adhesive and foam squares for the sentiment.
7. Shape the flowers using the Spellbinders Tool N' One stylus tip and a foam mat, and assemble. Arrange the flowers and foliage pieces around the sentiment and glue them down with Bearly Art Glue and/or foam squares.
8. Embellish with Nail Art Gems in Black and AB Clear. Add a few PinkFresh Studio Ballet Slipper Gems for interest.
7. For the card inside, use the Altenew Frosted Garden Stamps to stamp out some images in the bottom left and right hand corner of the card base in Distress Oxide Black Soot, Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar inks.
8. Stamp out the main sentiment in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and the scripty "Friends" sentiment in Tattered Rose ink using the PinkFresh Studio Always Uplifting Stamp set.
9. Adhere the card front to the card base and you're done!
So you see it's actually quite easy and quick to use these beautiful stitching dies without all the stitching. I know that I need to be in the mood when it comes stitching, so if you're like me, I hope I could inspire you to use these dies in a different way! And if you love stitching, you can also use this idea with those added stitching touches for a different look!
I hope you have been inspired and as always, thanks for stopping by. Please don't forget to leave me a comment, as I love hearing from you!
