Scrap 'N Stamp March Birthday Inspiration Hop

Hello Crafters!

Welcome to the Scrap N' Stamp March Birthday Bash Inspiration Hop! I'm so happy to be a Guest Designer again this month! This hop is in honour of Scrap N' Stamp's 14th birthday!

I will be using the Hampton Art Birthday Cupcakes Stamp & Die set along with the Hampton Art Birthday Banners Stamp & Die set for this card. These sets are perfect if you're someone who makes a lot of birthday cards like I do! And I find that those sentiments work well for the front and inside of the card.

For this card I decided to create a reel that you can view on YouTube below or on my Instagram account @deezinesbyd

I started by stamping out the 2 cupcakes from the set a total of 6-8 times on white cardstock with Spectrum Noir Flagstone ink. This is an alcohol marker safe ink that will prevent any smearing when colouring. I then proceeded to colour in these cute cupcakes with a rainbow of Spectrum Noir Triblend markers (Hydrangea Blend, True Blue Blend, Alpine Green Blend, Gold Yellow Blend, Purple Blend, Dark Red Blend, Burnt Orange Blend). I just did some simple blending by blending out the colours from dark to light.

I then used the coordinating die to cut out all of the cupcakes. I used the darkest shade from the Blue Turquoise Triblend marker to colour in the white outline that that the die creates when cutting out the images. I chose this colour because it best matches my cardstock that I'm using for the background.

I cut a Turquoise cardstock panel about 6.75" x 4.75" in size. Then I used some Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment from the Hampton Art Banners set onto the middle of the panel. I chose to ink blend the edges of this cardstock with Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and some Chipped Sapphire Oxide Inks. With the sentiment heat embossed, I could wipe away any excess residue from the ink blending. Then to make the sentiment stand out more, I used a white Sakura Jelly Roll pen to create a highlight on the embossed sentiment's letters.

Next, I propped up those cupcakes on the background with foam squares in a fun arrangement, making sure to vary the direction of each image. I cut off any overhanging edges and then used some of those pieces to fill up the background by attaching them to the edges of the panel also.

I attached the panel to a 5" x 7" white side folding card base with Tombow Dot runner. I also attached an extra cupcake to the bottom left corner of the card inside. And I stamped out another sentiment from the Banners set, along with the "Best Wishes" with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. Then I added some colour to the word CELEBRATE with the Blue Turquoise Triblend marker.

Finally, I embellished the cupcakes with some AB Crystal and coloured gems and I added some glossy accents to the stars and hearts on the cupcakes.

I hope you have been inspired and if you're looking for these cute birthday stamp sets you can find everything on the supply list below!
