Making Your Stitched Ornament a Spinner Card | Spellbinders Stitchmas Christmas Collection

Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing 2 cards featuring products from the Stitchmas Christmas Collection available in the Spellbinders' store now! These unique stitching dies are fun to use with or without stitching. And in this case, with some alternate stitching! I love looking for different ways to stitch these dies and today's cards are no different. I also turned that ornament die cut into a spinner card! Watch the YouTube Tutorial for more details!

If you haven't jumped on the stitching bandwagon yet, I highly recommend checking out the last few items (needles and thread) in my supply list at the bottom of this post to help you get started, if you're thinking of trying out this cool technique!

Card 1

For this card, I used the Stitched Ornament set from this collection and did some alternate stitching to create a diamond pattern with white and metallic thread. I added some die cut details and turned the ornament into a spinner. I added it to an oval cut trifold card and added some sentiments from years passed Spellbinders sets. You can find a more detailed process in the YouTube Tutorial linked above!

Card 2

For my second card, I used the Stitched Petal Diamond Background die set with peach, brown and mint colours of floss. I usually only use 3-4 threads from the floss to make stitching easier but this time I used all 6 threads from the floss and my oh my does it give a more full design! So in this way you can change the look of your stitching by using the full thickness of the floss. I stitched the main flowers as usual but for the circles in the diamonds, I used alternate stitching. I stitched the star pattern as on the packaging but then I added 2 extra stitches creating a triangle at the top, bottom, left and right of the circle. This creates a different looking flower pattern and makes this panel a bit unique, which is always my goal.

I used the die cuts pack from the All Aboard card kit from last Christmas which is still available in the Spellbinders shop! It's really a great kit and comes in handy for cards like this that take longer to put together. I adhered both sentiments with foam tape and attached the stitched panel to an A2 white card base. Finally, I added some clear gems and pearl embellishments to the flower centers.

And that is my card inspiration for the Stitchmas Christmas Collection! That's all I have for today but please don't forget to subscribe to see more as I will be posting more Spellbinders inspo for July! And as always all of the products used here have been listed below - Happy Shopping!
