Slimline Shadow Box Anthurium Vase | Scrappy Tails Crafts

 Hello Friends!

I have a slimline shadow box card to share featuring the Tropical Bliss Collection by Scrappy Tails Crafts. I wanted to try to use the vase pop-up die in a different way with previously released products to show how versatile these sets can be. I've made something similar before, but this time I'm highlighting the slimline card size and the addition of the vase is just that added touch of gorgeous!

For this shadow box slimline card, I used the Slimline Store Front Pop-Up die set from the last Scrappy Tails release. I used the die that creates square columns and assembled 4 of them, attaching two together on either side of my 3.75" x 9" slimline dark green card base. The columns are little smaller than the back panel but I just centered them on the edges. I then attached a Slimline Scalloped & Stitched Frame from Pinkfresh Studio that I had ink blended with Altenew Pink Pearl and Sweet Leaf inks. When you do this, I recommended folding the columns flat, in the same manner you would fit them into the envelope so that the frame sits flat when folded into the envelope upon completion.

I used the Anthurium die set from the Scrappy Tails Tropical Bliss release, cut out of white cardstock and added Altenew inks with a small blending brush as follows:

Stems and leaves - Altenew Sweet Leaf, Just Green and Hunter Green
Anturium Flowers - Altenew Blush, Pink Pearl and Sweet Leaf
Flower centers - Altenew Butternut

I then assemble the flowers, popping them up with foam squares for dimension. Next, I cut out the A7 Tall Triangular vase but just one side. I cut out the solid vase with Sizzix Opulent Ivory Glitter cardstock and the patterned piece with Sizzix OPulent Gold Mirror cardstock. I attached the gold pieces onto the ivory glitter pieces for the main bottom and small top section of the vase.

I adhered the anthurium flowers and the vase with foam squares on the inside of the shadow box. For the sentiment, I did some masked stamping with the Tropical Birds stamp set. I stamped the printed portion of the "Hope your day is outstanding" sentiment in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and the scripty portion in Saltwater Taffy Distress ink. I cut it out with the coordinating die and attached it to the vase with a foam square.

Finally, I embellished the inside with Trinity Stamps Bubble Blower Mix. I added some strip gems to the outside slimline frame (these were from the Dollar Store - such a great find!) And I also added some Diamond Stickles to the flower centers and veins of the leaves. And that was all it took!

I hope you've been inspired to make something similar yourself. All of the products have been linked below for your shopping pleasure!
