Happy Ha Ha Ha and Winter Wishes Wordies on Alcohol Ink Scenes | Creative Expressions

  Hello Friends and Crafters!

And here are my final 2 Christmas cards featuring the Designer Boutique Skating Fun Stamp and the Letter to Santa stamp available over at Creative Expressions (UMSDB120 & UMSDB118). On these cards I've used the new Happy Ha Ha Ha and Winter Wishes Wordies recently released (CEW010 & CEW011)! These wordies feature some more traditional phrases and some quirky sentiments for your more comical cards. I played it safe here but if you look at the wordies pack you will laugh your socks off!

For both cards, I used my alcohol inks to create some random backgrounds. I was careful to add more blue at the bottom of the skating scene and sunset colours going up the panel so it would match the stamp. But for the letters to Santa background, it was completely random and I haphazardly dropped my inks on the paper.

The colours I used were Lemonade, Pearl, Sailboat Blue, Sunshine Yellow and Coral for the skating background. And Monsoon, Purple Twilight, Wild Plum, Glacier and Pearl for the Letter to Santa card. I would recommend not using too much of the Pearl Mixative as it is harder to stamp on that and you can see that on my cards. It does give a bit of a cold winter air effect but too much will definitely hinder your stamping. Of course, since alcohol inks give a slick finish on Yupo, you need to use Staz-On or Archival Black ink to stamp out your image. This way it will not smudge and will stick to the paper.

I used the Jamie Rodgers In and Out Rectangles dies to cut the frames from mirror cardstock in charcoal and gold and attached them to the backgrounds with foam tape. I backed these onto white A2-sized card bases and added the foiled sentiments from the wordies packs. Finally, I used a white gelly roll pen to add stars and highlights along the black stamped images.
