Outlined Sentiments & Strawberry Patch - August Small and Large Die of the Month | Spellbinders Club Kits

As a continuation of Monday's post, today I'm sharing some inspiration for the August Small and Large Die of the Month called Outlined Sentiments and Strawberry Patch. Both sets are available to purchase on subscription in the Spellbinders' store now!!

Large Die of the Month

I added a lot of glitter to this card because I just couldn't resist. I cut out all of the leaves and vines from light, dark and glitter cardstocks in green. I used red glitter cardstock for the strawberries and white and gold cardstocks for the basket. There are also small flowers that I cut from Sizzix Opulent Rose Gold Pearl cardstock. For the mountain fold card, I cut an A2-sized top folding white card base and used the other half of my 8.5" x 11" to create the mountains. I placed it on my scoreboard lengthwise and scored it at 1/4", 2-1/4", 4-1/4", 5-1/4" and cut it at 6-1/4". I then folded this with an accordion fold starting from the 1/4" fold. I added strong double sided adhesive to the 1/4" lip and attached it to the A2- card base placing the fold on the front of the card. I cut 5 panels as follows and embossed them with the August Intertwined Lattice Embossing Folder of the Month:

- 1 panel in white cut to 4" x 5-1/4"

- 2 panels in green cut to 1-3/4" x 2"

- 2 panels in green cut to 3/4" x 1"

I then added some Altenew Sea Breeze and Tide Blue inks to the white panel to simulate a sky and some Hunter Green Altenew ink to the green panels. I adhered each panel to the corresponding size of the mountain fold card. I also added an acetate piece behind the first mountain, about 4" x 5". I layered my strawberry vine with 4 die cuts to make it more sturdy and adhered it the acetate. Then I arranged all of the strawberries, flowers and leaves on the vine and in the basket. 

Finally, for the sentiment, I used the Hello sentiment from the August Small Die of the Month - Outlined Sentiments. I cut the sentiment from Spellbinders Peach Glitter foam and the shadow from pink cardstock from the August Card Kit. I also added some small dot peach glitter embellishments that I had cut out of the extra peach glitter foam. And I added some clear gems to the flowers.

Small Die of the Month

This card features the Outlined Sentiments set or August Small Die of the Month (SDOM). I took some turquoise cardstock cut to 6-3/4" x 4-3/4" and embossed it in the August Intertwined Lattice Embossing Folder of the Month. I cut a 3-3/4" x 6-3/4/" white panel and adhered it in the center of the embossed panel. I also added two silver strips of cardstock on either side of the white panel. I then took the "Thanks" from the SDOM and cut it 6 times (2 of each colour) from homemade pink cardstocks going from light to dark shades. I had initially added Altenew Pinkalicious, Baby Pink and Pink Diamond inks to white cardstock and let it dry before cutting. 

I used the negative piece from cutting the Thanks sentiment and used it as a guide to inlay the letters since these dies don't connect all the letters. I continued this up the panel going from light, medium, dark, dark, medium to light pink. I used the Spellbinders Fluted Classics Ovals in the 2 second largest ovals to cut a detailed oval out of white and silver cardstock. I adhered the two in an offset fashion. I then added the Thanks sentiment again in silver cardstock on a vellum shadow. This set is great since all the sentiments have a shadow die. I also used the supplementary floral dies in this set to add some floral elements around the sentiment, using the leftover pink cardstock I cut the Thanks from. Finally, I used some Spellbinders Pink Opalescent embellishments and some clear gems to add some shine to this card.
