Peekaboo Trellis Panels & Intertwined Lattice - August APG Die & Embossing Folder of the Month | Spellbinders Club Kits

 Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards featuring the August APG Die and Embossing Folder of the Month called Peekaboo Trellis Panels and Intertwined Lattice. Both sets are available to purchase on subscription in the Spellbinders' store now!! The embossing folder matches a lot of the club kits perfectly and the peekaboo die comes with two variations!

I've included a YouTube Video Tutorial of the first card below, if you are interested!

I'll give a quick run down of each card on here but if you want a more detailed look, I highly recommend checking out the YouTube Video linked above!

APG Die of the Month

For the APG Die there are two peekaboo dies; a vine-like die and a leafy die. I chose to use the leafy die to cut a 5" x 7" white card base about 2/3 the way down the front. I also cut the same die out of silver metallic cardstock and adhered it behind the card base in an offset fashion to create a shadow. I added a card-like piece of blue/purple cardstock behind the peekaboo so I could still add some writing on the inside of the card without it being seen through the front.

For the flowers, I cut the outline out of silver metallic cardstock. I added some Uncharted Mariner, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac Oxide inks to white cardstock with a small blending brush, just big enough to cut the flowers. I die cut the flowers and used a die cut inlay technique to place the outline on a white solid die cut piece and add the coloured pieces. You could also just cut the coloured piece with the solid outline die and glue the silver outline flower onto the coloured solid piece (which is much easier). I did the same with the leaves where I used Uncharted Mariner and Rustic Wilderness Oxide Inks.

I adhered the flowers and leaves to the card base and added the "Hugs" sentiment cut from silver metallic cardstock. I finished this card off with some Spellbinders Purple Opalescent Sequins and clear gems.

Embossing Folder of the Month

For this card I used the Intertwined Lattice August Embossing Folder of the Month. I ink-blended a 6.75" x 4.75" panel with Uncharted Mariner, Prize Ribbon and Salvaged Patina Oxide inks and embossed it with the folder while the ink was still damp to facilitate embossing. I used some gold metallic pigment ink and lightly brushed it over the embossed panel to the raised bits would grab the ink. I added the vine peekaboo trellis using cream cardstock and the August APG Die of the Month. I added strips of gold glitter cardstock and the Cheers sentiment from the August Small Die of the Month.

The extra floral and leaf die cuts were added using the supplementary dies from the August Small Die of the Month and the Glitter Foam Sheets released by Spellbinders a few months ago. And finally, with a few clear gems my card was complete!

And that's my inspiration for the Spellbinders August 2022 Embossing Folder and APG Die of the Month! All of the products used here have been listed below for your shopping convenience!!
