Sew Happy September Card Kit of the Month | Spellbinders Club Kits

 Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing some inspiration for the September Card Kit of the Month called Sew Happy available to purchase on subscription in the Spellbinders' store now!! This kit is packed full of sewing, embroidery, knitting and crafty goodness! I've tried to capture the various themes of this kit in each card - hope you like it!

The Sew Happy Card Kit!

I've included a YouTube Video Tutorial of the first card below, if you are interested!

I'll give a very quick run down of each card on here but if you want a more detailed look, I highly recommend checking out the YouTube Video linked above!

Card 1

This card features the embroidery loop chipboard pieces that come with the kit. I used it as my focal point and used the largest circle die (included) to cut one of the card bases. Since they have a textured canvas finish, I thought it would look perfect as the embroidery cloth in the loop. I heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set on it and assembled in on the center of an A2-zised card using this aqua paper from the paper pad. I added some die cut florals, sewing images and sticker sentiments along with some clear gems.

Card 2

This card was made to be a crafty card for crafty minds! If you're looking to make some cards for your crafty friends, this kit is ideal! I used the Spellbinders Essential Squares dies to cut the center square from the purple cardstock from the kit. I added the sentiment sticker and built up the rest of the card with die cuts of crafty supplies and chipboard button stickers. Finally, I added some gold matte pearls.

Card 3

This card is a mini slimline (6" x 6", scored at 3") and I chose to make this one all about sewing as it pertains to dressmaking. I used to do a lot of sewing in my past making indian sari blouses and I love the bust die included in this kit! I actually have my old bust sitting in my room with necklaces on it. I had to use it and jazz it with some banner sentiments coming from the stand portion of the bust. Then I added a few more related stickers and floral die cuts. I embellished this one with Spellbinders Pink Opalescent Sequins.

Card 4

On this card, I added adhesive to my card base and adhered two pattern papers in a diagonal fashion and cut off the excess. I added a silver glitter strip and picked all of the circle die cuts I could. I attached a few with foam and the rest were stickers. I added a chipboard sentiment along the join of the two papers and embellished this with Peach Opalescent Sequins.

Card 5

I tried to keep this card simple to highlight the beautiful large floral die cuts included in this kit! I used the Fluted Classics Slimline Rectangles and some partial die cutting to cut the white center rectangle. Again I cut this out of the canvas card bases and heat embossed the sentiment. I attached it to the card base covered with the pink polka dot pattern paper with some foam. Then I arranged the florals and leaves around the rectangle and embellished it with clear gems.

Card 6

I used my curved corner punch to curve the edges on this card. This gorgeous yellow floral paper is pretty busy, so I used some vellum to mute the pattern a bit and added the heart wreath sticker. I added a couple sentiment stickers and floral die cuts to match the colour scheme. And with a few clear gems, this simple but pretty card was complete!

Card 7

My final card is the most labour intensive. I used the dies from this kit along with the cardstocks to cut out the embroidery loop. I added it to the pink floral card base and used my Spellbinders Tool N' One with the stylus tip to shape the flowers, adding dimension. I arranged it all on my card and added a few small flowers outside of the loop along with the needle and thread. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and propped it up on the bottom of the card. And as always, I added some gems to the flower centers and around the sentiment.

And that's my inspiration for the Spellbinders Sew Happy September 2022 card kit! I do plan on making some more cards with this kit that I will feature on my Instagram account - so please follow me there @deezinesbyd. You can also find a short reel there for these creations and others!
