What To Do With Your Card Kit Leftovers | Spellbinders September Sew Happy Card Kit

 Hello Friends!

As promised from last month's Spellbinders Card Kit post, I've created a scrapbook layout with my Spellbinders September Card Kit of the Month leftovers! I'm really having fun with this idea and if you're a scrapbooker then maybe the Spellbinders Card Kits can come in handy for your scrapbooking too! I like to use my cut up scraps from the paper pads and any extra die cuts and stickers to easily make themed layouts, like this one.

The kit is still available to purchase - So get yours now!

I always find that creating multiple projects with these kits, other than just cards, really gets me my money's worth! And it also helps me create unique projects with a lot of the thinking taken out of it - since the colour scheme and theme are already preset. Not to mention you get the coordinating colours of cardstock and there are usually multiple interrelated-themes in each kit! So let's get to it - below is a quick outline of my process.

Process Outline:

- Cut down strips of paper pad scraps to smaller widths and line 4-5 strips on either corner of a 12' x 12" white cardstock layout; cut off overhanging bits

- Pick 3-4 pictures to fit in the center of the chipboard sticker embroidery hoops (I chose pictures of my girls doing various crafty activities since this kits theme is sewing/knitting/creating/crafts/arts, etc.)

-Adhered each embroidery hoop in varying sizes over your pictures and cut around the edge

-Repeat the last step for one hoop with the light purple cardstock from the kit and add a circle sentiment sticker in the center

- Lay out the embroidery hoops with your images around your layout in a random fashion; adhere with foam squares

- Choose various die cuts and stickers to fit around each hoop; I like to have images sticking out from behind the hoops

- For the sentiment hoop, heat emboss one of the sentiments from the stamp set with the stitched heart in Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder on the dark blue cardstock in the kit

- Round off the corners of the heat embossed sentiment piece and adhere this with the snail pin cushion and sweaters around the sentiment hoop

-Add a sentiment strip from the sticker pack near each hoop; think of each hoop as telling it's own story based on your picture or just randomly

- Adhere all of your pieces down alternating foam adhesive and liquid adhesive to create varying levels of dimension

-Embellish with enamel dots, hearts and clear gems

And that's all there was to it! I got to use up my scraps and in turn I have this neat layout to capture memories in a crafty way!

I love sharing these layouts, as I think they really show you that you can use these card kits for way more than just cards! So whether you're a card maker or a scrapbooker, this kit have something for everyone! If  you have these kits already or already subscribe, just make one layout and if you like it - hey you have another use for your card kits and that's always a plus!

And that's my final bit of inspiration for the Spellbinders Sew Happy September 2022 card kit! If you like this idea, please consider following/subscribing to my media outlets below. I'm going to share at least one layout per card kit each month... and maybe more😉!
