Altering The Floral Arches Sets to Make a Christmas Card | The Greetery
Hello Friends!
I've just recently discovered The Greetery, which has some absolutely beautiful products that work so nicely together. I love the style of the products and I'm so happy to have finally found them! Today I'm using the Floral Arches stencils, dies and stamps with a holiday colour palette to create a Christmas card. They just released some great holiday sets that coordinate with the arches products but I couldn't wait, so this is what I came up with!
I also created a reel for the creation of this card. You can watch it below on my YouTube channel or you can also find it on my Instagram account 👉 @deezinesbyd , where you can find a ton more card inspiration!

The Creation Process
To start, I cut an A2 sized white panel of cardstock so it would nicely fit the registration marked frame on the Floral Arched stencils from The Greetery. The best part about this company is that they include a guide in full colour that is the same size as the stamped or stenciled image. So you can actually line up the stencils against the guide before you use it. Not only this, but each colour used on the guide is matched to the number on each stencil. This makes it much easier to pick your own colours and see which colour goes where in each layer. The same idea goes for the coordinating stamps which have alphanumeric labels. Finally, the coordinating dies can cut out seperate flowers for a 3D look and the matching stamps are labelled as well. It is all so detailed and well thought out!
I simply picked my colours using the guide for help, lined up my panel with the stencil and added Altenew inks in the following manner:
Stencil 1 - Frayed Leaf
Stencil 2 - Mountain Pine
Stencil 3 - Morning Frost & Forest Glades
Stencile 4 - Crimson
Stencil 5 - Blush
Stencil 6 - Gold Metallic
I then added the last stencil which adds ink to the center arch; I used Altenew Peach Perfect ink. Next, I used the stamping guide (included on the same sheet) to stamp out the details as follows, using my MISTI and more Altenew inks:
Upper and Lower Stems - Evergreen
A1, A5 - Velvet
A3, A4, A7 - Blush
A2, A6 - Butternut
Next I used the Arched Sentiments stamp set and stamped out the "Just A Little Note To Say" arch with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink. This was the most generic sentiment in the arches that I thought would work with a Christmas sentiment. This arch has breaks in the solid line of the arch to fit the "Thank You" sentiment. However, I'm not using that, so I took a Black Sakura Micron Pen and a ruler to fill in these blanks and create a continuous line. I also added some details in the stamped images in the frame, mostly adding centers to the small flowers.
I then used the coordinating Floral Arches Die to cut out the entire image. I used the Opposites Attract Holiday stamp set to heat emboss the "merry" sentiment with Ranger Princess Gold EP. I used the coordinating die to cut this out. I also stamped the "christmas" scripty sentiment from the set, with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, onto white cardstock inked up with Altenew Crimson ink (to match the flowers). I fussy cut the scripty sentiment as I did not have the coordinating die set.
For the background, I cut a red panel of cardstock slightly smaller than 4.25" x 5.5". I embossed it used the Tufted folder from Spellbinders which I think has a classy look like the Floral Arches set. I then assembled the card by adhering the red embossed panel onto a white A2-sized top folding card base. I attached the die cut floral arch and then adhered the "merry" & "christmas" sentiments using foam squares and Bearly Arts Glue.
To finish off this card, I added some Pinkfresh Studio Matter Gold Pearls and some Diamond Stickles to highlight areas of the flowers and leaves.
And there you have it! I hope you've been inspired to make something similar yourself. These arches sets are amazing and I can see myself creatng a ton of cards with them!
