The Floral Reflections Collections | Spellbinders

 Hello Friends and Welcome Back!

Spellbinders just released the Floral Reflections Collection this week and I have 2 cards to share using a few of the products. On one card I used some alcohol inks and embossed the panel using the Flower Frenzy Folder. And on the second, I did some simple ink blending before embossing it. Both give great results and the new glimmer plates are beautiful.

All of these products can be found in the product list at the end of this post. Please feel free to click and shop. Card 1

For this vibrant card, I used 5" x 7" Transluscent Yupo (this is important and I'll explain later) and added alcohol inks in Laguna, Stream and Pistachio. I simply added blending solution, then drops of the inks and used my blower tool to move the colours around, making sure to cover the entire panel.

While the alcohol ink panel was drying, I used the Glimmering Just For You glimmer plates to foil the floral image in Rose Gold Foil on white cardstock. I then cut this out with the coordinating die and set it aside for card 2. I took the negative Rose Gold foil and used the Glimmer Essential Floral Solid plate to foil over the floral image on the negative foil on white cardstock. I find the best cardstock to use for best results is Hammermill 100lb or Spellbinders Glimmer Specialty Cardstock. I then fussy cut this out - you cold also use the coordinating dies (Essential Floral Reflection Dies) if you have them.

I also foiled the Just For You With Love in a straight line using my washi tape and ruler. I used the included banner die and partial die cutting to get this banner to length.

Once the alcohol ink background was completely dried, I used the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder with Spellbinders Universal Plate System to emboss the Yupo. This is why I used the transluscent Yupo instead of Yupo Paper; it takes to the embossing folder better without tearing. The result is subtle but gorgeous when you tilt the card in the light.

I then assembled th ecard by adhering the floral solid piece in the center with the sentiment banner. I used foam adhesive for this and cut some branches and leaves from the Be Bold Blooms and Mini Blooms and Sprigs Die sets to add around both pieces. For these, I used Sizzix Ivory Glitter and Rose Gold Matt and glitter cardstocks.

I trimmed the panel down slightly and adhered it to a 5" x 7" white card base. Finally, I added some white iridescent gems.

Card 2

This card was made using some simple ink blending with Victorian Velvet, Saltwater Taffy and Tattered Rose Oxide inks. I foiled the Glimmer Essential Floral Solid plate in Opaque White Foil in the center of the 4-3/4" x 6-3/4" panel. I then used the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing folder as with card 1 and embossed the panel.

I took the foiled and cut floral we set aside in card 1 and coloured it in with some blue-green, yellow-green and cool grey Copic Markers. I also foiled and cut two separate sentiment banners on black cardstock with the Opaque White Foil.

I assembled this card by adhering the embossed panel onto a 5" x 7" black card base. I adhered the coloured floral image with foam squares, along with the banner strips, having them tucked slightly behind the floral piece. To finish this card off, I added some clear iridescent drops.

And that pretty much sums up my inspiration for this collection! As always, all of the products used here have been listed below for your shopping convenience!!
