Unconventional Coloured Christmas Cards | Concord & 9th

 Hello Friends and Welcome Back!

I'm having so much fun with the Boughs and Holly set from Concord & 9th. I'm a huge fan of cards with unconventional colours, especially for Christmas, and I hope you like how these turned out as much as I do!

Card 1

The Boughs and Holly Layering Stencils set has 6 stencils and is unqiue in that there are 2 sets in this package. Three of the stencils create a wreath and the other 3 create a background with open spaces for the sentiment. All 6 stencils are labelled 1 through 3 and with the respective design they make so they're easy to identify.

Now, it's important to note that when I first did this, I thought the design ws pretty sparse and that's because 2 of the stencils are designed to be rotated 180 degrees to create the full design. So with 3 stencils you are really inking up 5 stencils, so to speak. This is such a great idea and makes these stencils really cost effective if you're on a budget. Not to mention, they can give different looks if you don't rotate them and use the more sparse image of your card designs. I love the versatility of these!

Needless to say, this card featured the wreath design and I used blues and greens with a peachy background with the Sorbet and Grapefruit C9 inks. I added some ink splatter in white and Distress Tarnished Brass Mica Spray. Then I cut out some hollies, branches and leaves using the Boughs and Holly Dies, along with the sentiments from the Festive Phrases stamp and Die sets.

I adhered everything to a top-folding A2-sized card base using foam fo rthe sentiments. Finally, I embellished this crd with some clear gems.

Card 2

This card was made in much the same way as the first, except that I used blue and peach Altenew inks. I did a lot of splatter on this one with white acrylic ink, Distress Brushed Pewter Mica Spray and Distress Sprays in Tumbled Glass and Prize Ribbon.

I cut out branches and berries in rose gold and black glitter cardstocks. And I used the "Let's Be Jolly" sentiment die cuts from the Boughs and Holly Die set. This card is also an A2-sized top folding card and was embellished with some black and clear gems.

And that's really all it took. As you can see, with less of the die cuts, these cards would be perfect for mass production! I hope you've been inspired to make something similar yourself. As always, all of the products used here have been listed below for your shopping convenience!!
