Hello Friends !
I'm always looking for ways to use products to create unique cards that you would never think really of. In this card, I used the accent swirl from the Spellbinders October 2022 APG die set (3D Poinsettia Surprise Envelope), die cut it a few times and cut it in various places to create a Christmas Tree. The swirl itself was my inspiration and I challenged myself to use it in a different way than intended. I really like how it turned out and hope you do too!
I'll also be entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge entitled "Add Some Sparkle" and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge entitled "Holiday Cheer".

To start, I used the swirl die from the Poinsettia Envelope APG Set and cut 3 times from gold mirror cardstock. I not only kept the swirl but a couple of the negative pieces (that have a nice curve to it) from this die cut to add to the final tree. I've used arrows in the picture of the die below to show the negative pieces I kept.
I cut a blush panel of cardstock slightly smaller than an A2 size and I added Altenew Pinkalicious and Baby Pink ink the edges. I concentrated the darkest pink at the edges and lightly blended it into the center of panel.
I then used the swirls to create an image of a Christmas tree. The round curves really look like the triangular points of the tree with a more elegant form. I cut the 3 die cuts to form the tree and then I used the negative pieces to fill in the spaces.
I used the Holiday Decoration die set from Spellbinders to cut out the ornaments from peach shmmer and pink glitter cardstocks. I also used the bow from the dies included in the Santa Lane Card Kit to cut some rose gold glitter bows. I assembled the ornaments and placed them on the tree with foam squares wherever empty spaces needed to be filled in. I used the same set to die cut the star from gold and white glitter cardstock.
For the sentiment, I foiled the "Joyeux Noel" sentiment strip using the Mini Christmas Sentiments Set and Matte Gold foil. Then, I attached it to the bottom of the card with a foam strip. I tried to choose a short sentiment that could potentially look like the tree trunk at the bottom of the tree.
To finish off this card, I added some pink and clear gems.
And voila - my card was done. I hope you've been inspired to make something similar yourself. I encourage you to look through your sets for one die or stamp that really inspires you to use it in a different way and make a unique card of your own.
