Enchanted Sunset Journal Page | Creative Expressions

 Hello Friends and Crafters!

Today I have a really inky journal page to share with you. I'm calling it Enchanted Sunset and this page is a huge reminder to myself to try new things and believe in my abilities. I've only just started art journalling and I used to think that there's no way I could do this type of art. I gave it a try in December and I'm so in love with it. You can do whatever you want, use whatever you want and there's no limit to how creative you can be. I chose to use some whimsical stencils and stamps from Creative Expressions to put this page together.

For this journal page, I started with some ink blending with Distress Oxide inks. I tried to pick sunset colours and make them very vibrant, since I wanted to do some black silhouette stamping. The vibrant colours against the black creates such a great effect! I used Stormy Sky, Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey.

To create the whimsical effect I wanted, I added some water droplets to activate the chemical properties of the oxides and create the dotted effect. I used the CE DL stencils, Wild Oat Grass and Dandelion Whisper, to stencil the backkground in Walnut Stain, Espresso and Black Soot Oxide inks. I added a haze around the dandelion with white pigment ink.

I did some stamping with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink using the CE Designer Boutique Mush-Room With A View stamp set. I stamped the mushroom  and dragonfly on the left by the grass and the fairy to the right with the dandelion. I also stamped out the hanging vines from the Fairy Glade stamp set.

For the stamped sentiments, I used the CE Francoise Read Dragonfly Pond stamp set. I stamped the "Let Nature inspire you" sentiment in a curved manner encircling the dandelion. And I also stamped out the BREATHE sentiment multiple times around the top and stem of the dandelion.

To add a bit of shine to the stamped images, I added some Stickles in Golden Rod, Mercury Glass, Christmas Red, Diamond Black and Diamond. And the main sentiment was made using the We R Memory Makers Planner Punch Board, which comes in handy for journal pages since you can punch out any sentiment you'd like.

I usually like to add more but I thought I'd keep this one simple. I hope you like it and that you've been inspired to make something similar yourself. All of the products have been linked below for your shopping pleasure!
