The Striking Flower Stencil | A Colorful Life Designs

Today I have some inspiration to share featuring A Colorful Life Designs! (If you're placing an order, use code DeepaFan10 for a discount!) This card has more of an artistic look, and what I mean by that is that it's not perfect. I find that this look is imperfectly perfect! I used the Pointed Lace Stencil to dry emboss my background and I added some white ink to highlight the embossed lace image. The star of the show is the Striking Flower Stencil from this month's release, that I used with some Cosmic Shimmer Paints. You can see I have a bit of leakage on the edges of the stencil but that's just because I didn't use adhesive on the stencil. You can aim for this look or use adhesive to get sharp lines. The sentiment comes from the Happy Stamp Set also released this month.

Here's another photo of this card. The white pigment ink really makes the dry embossing show up better. I just took the ink pad to the cardstock but you could use a blending tool to avoid swiping lines like I have. As I mentioned, I wanted this imperfect look for this card but you can modify the design to work for you. I used the Cosmic Shimmer Antique Rose Chalk Polish with the Striking Flower stencil. And then I added some Cosmic Shimmer Sahara Gold Glitter Kiss Polish to the tips of the flowers in the stencil. I stamped out the sentiment from the Happy Stamp set and fussy cut it out. I added some ribbon to the dried panel before attaching the sentiment. And I finished this 5" x 7" card off with rows of clear gems to match the stencil.
