Hello Friends!
My post today features the Spellbinders Small and Large Die of the Month for April. The Small Die Kit, called Punch and Pierce Borders, is perfect for creating beautiful pierced backgrounds and edges. And you can mix and match smaller patterns to make a larger one; it's really a great set to have in your stash. And the Large Die Kit, called Punch & Pierce Frame and Sentiments, has a bunch of gorgeous scripty sentiments with coordinating shadow dies. Both sets are available to purchase on subscription in the Spellbinders' store on April 6th!!

This card took some time to cut and pierce the multiple layers but it was well worth it for the final look. I used the scallop edge die and punch and pierce plate and taped them together to cut 5 pieces from some blush cardstock. I also used one of the straight plates to cut the bottom right angled layer that fits on the bottom of the A2-sized white card base.
Once everything was cut, I simply adhered them to the card base lining up the middle curve/scallop just above the little punched center flower for each layer. I then stamped out the flowers and sentiment from the Clear Stamp of the Month Kit and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I coloured in the flowers with Copics and arranged these at the top of the card with foam adhesive. Finally, I added some Matte Gold Pearls.
The result is this simple yet elegant card! You can see how the punch and pierce plates don't need too much extra to create stunning cards!
Large Die of the Month
I used the same colour scheme for this card and besides the added vellum glimmered leaves and flowers, it's really easy to put together. I cut the border from blush cardstock using the Large Die of the Month and also cut the cardstock border to go behind from matte gold cardstock. I adhered them in an offset fashion so there was a bit of a border around the edges and not just behind the punched pieces.
I also used the Glimmer Kit of the Month and foiled some leaves on vellum with Matte Gold Foil. The trick to this is to only add the foil and vellum after the timer has ended (has a solid light) for heating the plate only on the Glimmer Machine. And I also add a piece of cardstock folded (so two layers of cardstock) in between my shim and spacer pad, to add more pressure when running it through my die cutting machine. I then cut these with the coordinating die.
Next, I added some foam tape around the frame and using the sentiment as a guide cut from gold glitter cardstock using the sentiment dies from the DOML, I added the vellum leaves on the foam adhesive behind the frame. I made sure the leaves would not cover the sentiment when adhered permanently. I then adhered the frame to the A2-sized white card base and attached the sentiment die cuts with glue.

And that's my inspiration for the April 2023 Large and Small Die of the Month!
