This month's Glimmer Kit, called Silhouette Balloon Greetings, is perfect for making a shaker card! And I love the large foiled sentiments included in the kit! I mixed a few kits to make this fun shaker card including the small die of the month for the clouds and the quick & easy card kit for the pattern paper and shaker bits!
Silhouette Balloon Greetings Glimmer Kit of the Month
The glimmer kit for this month may look a bit complicated but it' actually very simple to use! I usually pick the sentiment I want to use and center it on my card panel, placing the top and bottom balloon dies around it to make sure it's positioned properly. I create a hinge with the sentiment glimmer plate and washi tape, then I add my foil; I used Prism foil here. I remove the dies and run this set up through my glimmer machine and die cutting machine.
Next, I line up the top and bottom balloon dies and cut those out. I added acetate behind the panel and enclosed the balloon opening with foam tape for my shaker bits. I cut down my panel slightly to allow for a border and pulled out my Quick & Easy Card Kit for the next few steps.
I grabbed a card base from the kit and adhered one of the pattern papers on it, just so it would be seen behind the balloon panel. Then I used the shaker bits/embellishments from the kit and added it to the center of the card base. These embellishments are perfect for pairing with the glimmer set. And I adhered the balloon panel to secure the shaker portion of the card.
To dress up this card further, I added the clouds from the Small Die of the Month and flowers from the Large Die of the Month. Finally, I added some pearls and a Happy Birthday subsentiment banner created using the Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plates Set. As you can see this card really mixes a lot of this month's kits and really highlights my favourite aspect of Spellbinders kits, which is that they all coordinate so seamlessly!
