Altenew's July 2023 Craft Your Life Project Kit: Zero-Waste Flowery Pattern
Hello Friends and Crafters!
I am so very honoured to be a guest designer for Altenew this month! Today I want to share some card inspo using the July 2023 Craft Your Life Project Kit called Zero-Waste Flowery Pattern. This is such a fun kit that includes a large stamp (with sentiments), coordinating dies, stencils and an embossing folder. Everything coordinates so seamlessly and this zero-waste kit cuts a bunch of floral pieces, which is perfect for creating many cards at once with little time spent! This kit is available to current and new subscribers of this kit and the Ultimate Subscription Plan until July 2nd on the Altenew website only. So if you'd like to subscribe, you can do so here (https://shrsl.com/43sjz) or if you're a current subscriber you can look forward to receiving these goodies soon!

Card 1
This card was made using the Cherry Blossom and Spring Bouquet Altenew Ink families. I simply ink blended the stamped florals creating a gradient while I applied the ink. Then, I used the die to cut out all the floral bits in one swoop through my diecutting machine. The background was embossed with the folder using charcoal shimmer cardstock. And you can see that I arranged the floral die cuts behind that circle sentiment piece.
To create the circle sentiment piece, I cut a circle using a circle punch I had on hand. Then I used my stamp positioner (the new Altenew stamp wheel works perfectly for this) to create a curve in the sentiment stamp I chose. I did this by manipulating the stamp on the window portion of the stamp positioner and then lining it up with the punched circle. Then all I had to do was stamp it out. I added the stamped and die cut main sentiment onto the circle with foam adhesive. Then I arranged some smaller flowers on this circle while cutting off any over hanging bits.
Card 2
This card uses the stamp set and stencils without the large die. As you can see it makes a beautiful background for your cards. I did some ink blending with a mix of Altenew Crisp Dye Inks (Green Fields, Spring Bouquet, Glacier Caves and Pocketful of Sunshine families) and the stencils in the kit. Again I varied the pressure I used to add the inks to create a gradient look in the colours.
I added one of the sentiments, stamped and die cut with some Puffy Heart ink, and attached it with foam adhesive for dimension. Then I also added a sub-sentiment strip. I've been playing with these lately and I think they are a fun way to make use of those sub-sentiments in your stamp sets. Not to mention, they give such a fun look! I heat embossed the sentiment repetedly and then cut down the strip and added it vertically to add some interest.
Card 3
My third card uses the die cut flowery pattern that I ink blended using the Rose Petal, Sea Shore and Sweet Dreams Ink Families from Altenew. I used another repeating sentiment strip, in black this time and arranged everything on a peach shimmer cardstock panel embossed with the embossing folder.
I added the sentiment that I stamped in black and die cut. Then, I added some Mustard Nuvo Drops for the flower centers and some Diamond Stickles on the flowers for shine.
Card 4
My final card has a very different look that the first 3. I heat embossed the Flowery Pattern stamp onto navy blue cardstock. Then I used a mix of Ivory Cosmic Shimmer Paste and Frosted Pearl Nuvo Shimmer Paste to add shine and colour to the florals using two of the stencils. I made sure I allowed each layer to dry in between stencilling. Then I added some Dusty Rose Vintage Nuvo Drops to some of the smaller dots in the background. And I filled in the larger dots with clear gems in varying sizes.
The sentiment was stamped and cut into a strip and backed onto some rose gold cardstock. Then to create a different look, I attached this strip diagonally along the bottom right corner.
And that wraps up my inspo for this kit! I hope you've been inspired by these cards and if you are looking to get this kit, you can subscribe to it by itself or as part of the Ultimate Subscription Plan (links at the end of this post) which includes all of the Altenew Marvelous Monthly Series kits! (note subscription window closes July 2nd)
