July Small Die of the Month | Spellbinders Club Kits

The July 2023 Small Die of the Month is one of my favourites this month! It consists of gorgeous florals and foliage that assemble into the shape of a Christmas tree. I decided to go with a plum coloured cardstock for a more unconventional but still a warm-looking card. And I coupled this with golds, silvers and whites for my cardstock die cuts. The main die in this set cuts out 4 clusters of foliage/florals that come together to form the tree. I cut these out of gold mirror cardstock and kept my negatove piece of the cardstock to use as a template so I could inlay the diecuts on the plum cardstock background. Now you could use one of the embossing folders on the background here but I wanted to keep mine plain. I used the rest of the dies to cut out the florals from white and silver glitter cardstock. And I cut the flower centers from gold glitter cardstock.

To add some dimension to the florals, I used light grey Copics (C-1 and C-3) to shade in the bottom of the petals. Then I assembled the complete tree. Now there is an outline die you could use for the tree but I didn't want to cover up more plum cardstock than needed. 

I added the JOY banner with a matte gold shadow die cut and then I added more shine with pink glitter drops for the berries. There is a die you can use to cut the berries from cardstock but I find that using gems is easier.
