The BetterPress & Wax Seal Club Kits of the Month | Spellbinders Club Kits

    Hello Friends!

I'm here to share two of the newest Spellbinders Club Kits - the BetterPress & Wax Seal Club Kits of the Month. I created 2 cards with the BetterPress and added a wax seal to one of them, which I made in a different way than you normally would. The wax seal coordinates perfectly with this and all the other kits for August! The peach card uses Distress Saltwater Taffy Ink and the second card uses the Black archival BetterPress ink. And I used my Zig Clean Watercolour Markers to colour in the second panel. Experimenting with different inks and cardstocks is really where I'm at with the BetterPress System right now! To get a better look at how these cards came together, I have included a reel in this post for your viewing pleasure! These sets called Mandala Flower and Rose Bouquet are available to purchase on subscription in the Spellbinders' store NOW!!

This first card uses the BetterPress of the Month kit but instead of using the BetterPress inks, I decided to experiment with Distress Inks. So I grabbed some Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink and inked up the plate with that. I chose this colour as I thought it matched the Peachy Pink wax beads the closest. I then ran my cotton cardstock through with the BetterPress System and the results were still super stunning!

I added a peach panel in a diagonal fashion and a rose gold glitter cardstock strip. I attached my wax seal here with foam adhesive and I added some wax beads, which I made from the leftover Peachy Pink wax from my seal.

I made my wax seal in the conventional way using the Peachy Pink wax beads and Mandala Flower stamp. I then cut off the edge to get a smaller circle. Next, I created a white wax seal using the 1" Solid Circle Wax Seal Stamp. Once that was cool, I added a drop of hot wax on top of the white seal and attached the peach cut seal. This way I got a white border and a bit of dimension to my seal. Finally, I used a silver paint pen to highlight the ridges of the mandala.

My second card uses the Rose Bouquet BetterPress plate with plain old Black BetterPress Ink. However, this time I used the Pebble Cotton panels as I havent used them yet. I used the same positioning of the plates as I did in the first card. And of cours, the results are stunning! I then used my Zig Clean Watercolor Brush Markers to add colour to the image. With the detail of this plate, it makes it easy to add flicks of colour with my markers. And since these are water-based markers, they work well with the BetterPress Ink (as opposed to alcohol markers).

To finish off this card, I added a strip of matte silver and silver glitter cardstock and some peach pearls.

And that's my inspiration for the August 2023 BetterPress & Wax Seal Kit of the Month!
