Altenew April 2024 Release Video Hop + Giveaway!!

    Hello Friends and Crafters!

Altenew's April 2024 Release is now available and that means it's time for another fun-filled video hop. This release has a bunch of beautiful products that I know you're going to love, including an  8 x 11mega stamp set with a huge Bouquet of Poppies! Craft A Flower: Anemone Blue Poppy Dies & Blooming Motifs Embossing Folder

This card was made with the Craft A Flower: Anemone Blue Poppy Dies in the exact same manner as the last card I showcased in my YouTube video for the hop. I just thought you might like to see it with another colour scheme, in portrait orientation too.  It still gives the same dramatic look but looks like a different card all together.

Pink Star Tulip Dies

This card uses the Pink Star Tulip dies from this release. This is another grogeous layering die set and I love how flowing the petals are. I used a red colour scheme along with some red glitter cardstock for the leaves. And if you look closely, you will see the background is embossed with the Baroque Elegance Better Press plate, also released this month. 

Mega Large Stamp 8x11 - Bouquet of Poppies

The large 8 x 11 stamp set has to be one of my favourites! There is one large image which I used here and for another 2 cards and they also have some singular poppies for smaller cards. There are a bunch of sentiments too and the versatility here is amazing!! I used the coordinating stencils with this slimline card and the sentiment was cut from the Timeless Sentiments 2 die set.

I went a bit more artistic on this card and used some waterbrush markers to watercolor this panel. Keep in mind that this was 1/3 of a larger panel stamped out using the 8 x 11 Bouquet of Poppies stamp set.

This card uses the last 1/3 of the large panel I stamped out using the large 8 x 11 Bouquet of Poppies stamp set. I went with some yellows and blues when inking up the stencils for these poppies. And the background was simply sprayed with some blue ink sprays - a really fun and quick was to make beautiful backgrounds. I was able to acheive a more artistic splotchy effect by using the ink spray with Artistry by Altenew's new watercolor cardstock panels. 

Petal Harmony HFP

This card pairs the Bouquet of Poppies stencils, used without the stamp outline for a softer look, with the Petal Harmony Hot Foil Plate. I used this foil plate with Altenew's (Mirror) gold foil and some of the Red Jasper Gems Sparkles, also released this month.

Build A Garden: Morning Glory

This card uses the Build A Garden: Morning Glory bundle. I used a couple frames from the older rectangles fine frames die cut from gold cardstock. The gorgeous morning glories really stand alone.

Dynamic Duo: Modern Dahlia & Timeless Sentiments 2

This card uses the Dynamic Duo: Modern Dahlia, which I inked up and cut up to fit either corner of this card. I randomly stamped out the twigs and sprigs in the background with slightly darker purple ink to create a watermark effect. And the sentiment is from the Timeless Sentiments 2 die set.

Floral Radiance Stencils & Timeless Sentiments 2

In order to make sure this card turned out nicely, I used a colour scheme I picked out from the internet. I then found equivalent inks in the Altenew sets and used some Antique Gold Pigment ink to accent these Floral Radiance Stencils. Then I simply added the sentiment with the Timeless Sentiments 2 die set.

Floral Radiance Stencils & Embellished Flora Dies

This card uses the Floral Radiance layering stencils and I went with some soft colours this time. I cut my panel on an angle and added a few layers of glitter cardstock using the Embellished Flora die set. 

Petal Harmony HFP, Embellished Flora Dies & Timeless Sentiments 2

This card uses the Petal Harmony HFP in the background in some light green cardstock. Then I added the Embellished Flora dies as the focal point with some mirror and glitter cardstocks. The sentiment is from the Bouquet of Poppies stamp set.

Baroque Elegance Press Plate

This card's picture really doesn't do it justice because that background is actually foiled using the Baroque Elegance BetterPress plate and Altenew's Fuschia (mirror) hot foil. My apologies for not getting a better photo of the foiling. It really makes this card what it is and I simply added a couple butterflies and the sentiment from the Bouquet of Poppies set.

My final card uses the Baroque Elegance BetterPress plate with black ink, the Timeless Sentiments 2 dies and some butterflies from the Bouquet of Poppies bundle. To add some shine I added some Gem Sparkles from the Smokey Quartz set.
