Colourful Summer Cards with the May 2024 Altenew Monthly Release + Giveaway!

    Hello Friends and Crafters!

Altenew's May 2024 Release was just released and so I have another fun video tutorial to share with you for this month's video hop & giveaway! As always, this release has a bunch of gorgeous stamps, dies, stencils and embossing folders! And bonus this month are the beautiful aprons Altenew has to offer. Keep a look out for a pic of myself with the apron I chose in my IG & FB stories! Of course, there are $300 in total prizes up for grabs with this hop! Build A Garden: Exotic Tuberoses Set & Pixel Grid Die

Here's another card I made using the BAG Exotic Tuberoses set. This time I used the Pixel Grid Cover Die in the background with some silver glitter cadstock behind it to add some shine. I simply added some Altenew Emerald ink to turquoise cardstock in a gradient fashion and cut the cardstock with the cover die. After picking out the little squares with my picking tool, I added those tuberoses with a sentiment from the Treasured Memories Craft Your Life Project Kit. 

Craft A Flower: Gardenia Dies

This card uses the Craft A Flower: Gardenia dies. If you're wondering how I got those great striations on the petals, I simply angled my Altenew detail brushes on their edge to get this effect with a slightly darker ink. And I did this after applying a mix of inks to these die cuts which started off as white. And the sentiment is heat embossed from the BAG set this month.

Deco Fan HFP

This card uses my absolute favourite product from Altenew's May 2024 Release, the Deco Fan Hot Foil Plate. I'm a sucker for art deco motifs and this one fits the bill perfectly. I made this HFP the star of the show on this card and simply cut out one of the fans with a craft knife to add the sentiment. Finally I added some of Altenew's NEW Red Jasper Gem Sparkles.

Mini Delight: Buttterfly Dreams & Deco Fan HFP

This card uses the Mini Delight: Butterfly Dreams which I paired with the Deco Fan HFP in the background. They seem to pair so nicely. For the butterflies, I actually stamped out their images in light pink and purple. Then I also heat embossed and cut out the detail portion on vellum. I attached the two layers together atthe body to create a dimensional butterfly. Then I attached them to the card with the cage cut out of black and green Altenew glitter cardstocks. 

Deco Cover Dies, Streamlined Sprigs & Deco Fan HFP

I hope you like how this card turned out as much as I do. I used the Deco Fan HFP in the background on emerald cardstock, the Deco Cover Dies (frames) in gold metallic cardstock and I added the floral portions of the Streamlined Springs dies for the design in the center. The sentiment is heat embossed using a stamp from the Treasured Memories Craft Your Life Project Kit. And I added a few gems from the Red Jasper Gem Sparkles by Altenew.

This card uses a mix of the Deco Fan HFP and the Streamlined Sprigs Die set. I went with a black, mahogany and gold theme for a regal look, which I love! I chose to use some Altenew Rhodolite glitter cardstock behind the sprigs to add extra shine as well. And like many of my cards from this release, the sentiment is from the Treasured Memories Craft Your Life Project Kit.

Deco Cover Dies,  Mini Delight: Buttterfly Dreams & Gilded Marble BP Plate

This card uses some of the leftover butterflies I had from a previous card using the Mini Delight set this month, along with the Deco Cover Dies and the Gilded Marble BetterPress Plate, subtley used in the background. I got this subtle look by using the BP plate with some cloudy white Altenew pigment ink and some rose quartz ink. It's very subtle but I think it gives a gorgeous soft look for a background.

Craft Your Life Project Kit: Treasured Memories

My final card featured for Altenew's May 2024 Release is this one using the Treasured Memories Craft Your Life Project Kit. I stamped and inked up the large bouquet and then cut it in half! I added the sentiment in the middle and lined the edges with gold and blue glitter cardstock. I propped up the bouquet with foam adhesive and ink blended the background a bit in blue ink. Finally I added some Gem Sparkles from the Deep Sea Sapphire set.
