Merry & Bright Colour Therapy | Pinkfresh Studio Challenge

  Hello Friends and Crafters!

Are you ready for some much needed colour therapy? It's sub-zero temperatures here and the sun was missing for a while, so I thought I'd grab some alcohol markers and spend some time colouring in this beautiful Peony Print foiled image. Pinkfresh Studio has some amazing full hot foil plates and stamps and the Peony Print plate is one of my favourites! Once I got my dose of colour therapy, I turned this into a Christmas card so I can enter this card in the Pinkfresh Studio December 2024 Challenge. I chose my marker colours to be as close to the given colour scheme as possible. All in all, I love how this turned out and I hope you like it too!

I used some Spellbinders Satin Pewter foil to foil the Peony Print HFP. Then all I had to do was colour in the image.

Now you might wonder how I kept my foiling clean since alcohol markers do colour over top of the foil, specifically the darker colours. My big tip for this is to use your darker colours first, then use the lighter colour markers to blend and hopefully pick up any colouring over the foil. I do this through out my colouring the entire panel  so that my final step for clean up isn't as labour intensive. And that final step is to fully clean everything up with a colourless blender and go over the areas of foil with marker sitting on top. This keeps the foiling clean and shiny.

Once my image was fully coloured in, I foiled a sentiment from the Magical Holiday Press Plate set onto black cardstock. I figured the black would go with the deep brown background I coloured in around thos pretty peonies. Then I simply cut down the panel and attached it to an A2-sized card base above the sentiment. I added a grey/black strip of glitter cardstock at the join and some Pinkfresh Champagne Glitter Drops to finish off this card.

As always, thanks for stopping by. And don't forget to leave me a comment, as I love hearing from you! And don't forget to follow me on Instagram @deezinesbyd where I have a ton more inspiration!
