My Favourite Technique Inspiration Hop | Scrap 'N Stamp
Happy Hop Day!
Welcome to the My Favourite Technique Inspiration Blog Hop with Scrap 'N Stamp! Our talented designers have created some cards with their favourite cardmaking techniques. My chosen technique is using the BetterPress for letterpressed images and colouring them in with watercolour brush markers. I also included a second technique of foiling and colouring with coloured pencils for those of you who don't have the BetterPress yet. I love that you can use the letterpress plates for foiling and letterpress interchangeably.
As always we’ll be giving away a $50 Gift Certificate to one lucky person who leaves a comment along the way. Every stop is another chance to win, so please share the love with each of the talented makers! We will announce the winner on the SNS blog at the end of the month!
Also be sure to check out the sale going on in the shop!
Here's the full hop order, in case you get lost along the way:

My Inspo This Month
I used the Cosmos Backdrop BetterPress plate from Spellbinders to letterpress an entire background in Cosmic Sky BetterPress Ink. I love using the letterpress technique with the BetterPress system because it is so easy, quick and the results are amazing!
If you haven't used the BetterPress System before, it's a really quick and simple process. You simply attach your plate to the bottom magnetic platform or chase. Then you stick you panel of cardstock within the gridlines of the A2 panel to the acetate plate or platen. You apply your ink with a gentle sweeping motion over the BetterPress plate. Then you attached the platen to the chase with the cardstock panel facing down over the inked up plate. And then you run it through your diecutting machine. And that's how you get the gorgrous result below.
If you want to use this technique or design and don't have the BetterPRess System or want to try something different, remember that you can also foil these BetterPress plates with your Spellbinders Glimmer System. The process is exactly the same as foiling a regular hot foil plate, but instead you use the BetterPress plate and you may need a shim when putting this through your diecutting machine (I use the Spellbinders Platinum 6 and don't need a shim).
And once you have your panels pressed and foiled, all you have to do is enjoy some colouring therapy. I used my Zig Clean Color waterbrush markers to colour in the letterpressed panel, which I did on white cardstock. I did use a waterbrush to make th colours flow a little better on the blue leaves but not on the petals of the flowers.
Then I cut down the panel, added some gold twine and a foiled sentiment from the Spellbinders Curved Sentiments set. It was as simple as that and that's why I love this technique!
For the foiled panel on Spellbinders Indigo cardstock, I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils to colour in this Cosmos Backdrop. The coloured pencils have more muted look on the darker cardstock but still looks very pretty.
I added some white splatter to this panel and assembled it in the same manner as the last card but I used some Spellbinders Dahlia cardstock for my border and some pink twine.
And that's my inspiration for the hop. I hope I've inspired you to create something similar withthese techniques. Please don't forget to comment for a chance to win! All of the products used have been listed below for your shopping pleasure. And if you have any questions about the BetterPress, I've been using this for a long time now, so please do ask away!
Have a Great Day and Happy Hopping!
