Diving Into the Techniques

In the project photo, you can see exactly how these two beginner methods come to life.

The Wet-on-Wet Gradient: This is the ultimate foolproof way to create a smooth, dramatic background. By prepping your watercolor paper with clean water first, the pigments from the tubes effortlessly float and blend across the surface, giving you that perfect seamless transition from a deep, rich hue to a soft, glowing pink.

Simple Layered Petals: If you want to color in beautiful floral images without stressing over perfect shading, this method is for you. We build soft layers of color that naturally pool and dry, giving your flowers instant depth and a professional hand-painted look with very minimal effort.

Take It a Step Further with Die Cuts

I have a video I recently posted that uses these 2 methods and shares some more tips and tricks for beginnner watercoloring, like dilutio, mixing colors, etc.

I hope this inspires you to dust off your brushes (or grab your first set of tubes!) and give watercoloring a try. It is such a therapeutic and rewarding process.

Which of the two methods are you most excited to try first? Let me know in the comments below! Also, if you'd like to see more YouTube tutorials on watercoloring, drop a comment telling me so - I'll see what I can do!
