Creating Texture with Patterned Noise

For this card, I wanted to capture the feeling of a relaxing, sunny pool day. I began by ink-blending a vibrant gradient of blue across the cardstock to create that perfect "pool water" base. To add a high-end, shimmering texture, I applied Altenew’s foil relief paste through the Patterned Noise stencil. Once dry, I simply stuck on Spellbinders Skybright foil to achieve that gorgeous, metallic finish that perfectly simulates the look of sunlight reflecting off the surface of moving water. I love this technique witht this paste as I don't need any heat to add that foil. It’s such an effective way to add dimension without needing heavy embellishments!

Adding the Whimsy

To complete the relaxing scene, I added a vibrant, die-cut pink pool floatie—a cute little duck! Popping that bright pink against the cool, textured blue background provides a fantastic visual pop. I finished the card with a clean sentiment, "Wishing You a Relaxing Birthday," shot-foiled in the same blue foil to keep everything cohesive and soothing.
