Welcome back to the blog! Today, I'm sharing a super fun, interactive summer camp scene featuring a retro camper tucked away in a quiet, starry pine forest. There is nothing quite like a peaceful night under the stars, and to make this card extra special, I added a warm, inviting light right inside the camper!

By placing Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights behind the camper door and window, the whole scene comes to life with a press of a button. To top it off, I paired the design with the sentiment "Life feels lighter with you around"—a fun play on words that fits an interactive light-up card so perfectly!

Card Details & Key Techniques

Building the Scene To set the outdoor mood, I started by ink blending a rich night sky using Altenew inks, keeping the center lighter to mimic the glow of moonlight. I stamped and colored the pine trees and retro camper using Pinkfresh Studio's Retro Camp Days sets to bring in bright, vibrant summer colours.

Adding the Light-Up Element The real magic happens behind the scenes! I lined up on trio of LED lights from the Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights 3-pack right behind the open door and window of the camper. Because EZ-Lights are super flat and come ready-to-use with the battery & battery housing attached, securing the mechanism with a bit of tape and mounting the panel with foam tape was quick and hassle-free. Here's a picture of how simple it looks from behind.

Finishing Touches I layered the sentiment strips—"Some people just feel like home" at the top and "Life feels lighter with you around" near the bottom—to anchor the design. A few white accent dots added the perfect finishing touch to complete the starry sky!
